4. Sonic pest devices actually work
You’ve probably seen those adverts for “ultra-sonic” pest control devices. These devices are especially prevalent online. You may even have been tempted to purchase them. These devices are ineffective at getting rid of pests.
5. Mice love cheese
What should you put in your mouse trap? Cheese, or course. Actually, this is wrong. Believe it or not, mice aren’t particularly fond of cheese. What they prefer is peanut butter, which is one of the best foods to catch mice. They love the sugar, oil, and nutty taste.
6. Cockroaches can survive a nuclear blast
While not exactly an example of pest control myths, this is still a myth about pests. Basically, the legend goes that cockroaches can survive a direct nuclear attack. Even though cockroaches are hard to kill, nothing can survive a direct bladt. What they can survive though are high levels of radiation.
7. You cannot get rid of certain pests
Many people believe that it’s impossible to get rid of things like acts or cockroaches. This really isn’t true. With enough effort, plus a good strategy, it’s possible to get rid of any type of pests. This is true, no matter how deeply entrenched the pests may be.
8. You need chemicals to kill pests
How do you kill pests? With large doses of pesticides. Wrong again. There are now a variety of natural chemical-free methods for destroying pests. The most popular of these is heat treatments. This method uses high levels of heat to eliminate pests and is 100% safe for the environment.
